Effective Personal Communication
‘Effective Personal Communication’ (EPC) is a program aimed at persons which consists of two modules of two and a half days each. Because your personal learning goals are focused on, an intake interview by telephone will be held before the training course commences. This intensive and confrontational training course is aimed at executives, staff employees and professionals in profit and non-profit organizations.
Content
Effective communication is very much related to behavior and intent. The aim of the training course is to become more aware of how you communicate and the effect this has on other people. The program is based on three elements: authenticity, congruity and synchronism. By analyzing, honing and expanding your communication style, you will explore undiscovered areas in your personality. With your newly acquired insights, you will develop more ‘feeling’ for your communication with others.
During the training course you will learn to look at:
- Your own reference sets
- Your selective way of observing
- Non-verbal aspects of communication (posture, mime)
- Levels of communication (content, emotion, relation and intent)
- Alternative behavioral possibilities
Program-structure
The program consists of two modules of two and a half days each and a Follow-up. Both modules are aimed at enhancing your insight into the background and effect of your communication and the communication of others. After six months, a follow-up meeting will be held.
Module 1, two and half days
The aim is to understand patterns in and effects of your communication and that of others.
Module 2, two and a half days
Subjects
- Expansion of communicative skills
- Influencing and directing communication processes
- Lasting ways that enable you to invest in communication
Much emphasis is put on practice.
Result
In this training course, you will look at your communication with others with a fresh eye. You will handle your environment in a more flexible way and you will enhance your personal effectiveness, on as well as outside the workfloor. The idea that you are capable of consciously directing your own behavior will also help you grow personally.
