The Spirit of De Baak

De Baak is a place for professionals, leaders, and entrepreneurs.

Those who come to De Baak seek knowledge and motivation, inspiration and insight. The De Baak environment is one of paradoxes. We offer you the peacefulness to contemplate yourself...and the vitality to enjoy life more fully. De Baak teaches you how to learn. We stimulate your curiosity; your capacity to reflect on yourself and to grow.

Focus on the Individual
We teach personal effectiveness. We guide people in how to interact with colleagues, with their organizations—and within a social context.

Coming to De Baak is a chance for deep learning about one’s own personality. De Baak program participants discover answers to life’s dilemmas, both personal and professional. Selecting De Baak for training signals a willingness to examine limitations and blind spots as well as ambitions and prospects.

Practical and Imaginative

Expect pragmatism and creativity from our programs. The De Baak approach is always surprising, sometimes confrontational, often humorous.

Each program is led by a strong manager. Your program-manager is by turns content developer, coach—and guardian of your development as an individual. Skilled at personal and group feedback, your program-manager adapts easily to the group’s changing needs. Your coach transitions smoothly between creativity issues and concrete learning goals.

The Contexts for Learning

People’s learning styles differ; that’s why the formats De Baak offers are so varied. You may choose short- or long-term course paths, large or small groups. You may also work one-on-one with De Baak coaches, and in tailor-made programs for you, your team, and your organization.

A Network of Educators

More than 400 specialists around the world contribute their teaching abilities to De Baak. These experts are affiliated with universities and institutes, business schools, innovation centers, and consulting firms. These De Baak instructors are active in politics, in the art world; they maintain key positions in business, government, and the not-for-profit arena.

Program participants evaluate their course leaders at the close of each experience. Instructors and client companies receive the group’s feedback. Fellow De Baak instructors audit their colleagues’ courses regularly, providing yet another opportunity for input, improvement, and feedback.

A Distinguished Heritage

We’re proud of the contribution we’ve made to the professional community over the past six decades. Our work is valued and recognized on a continuing basis:

• Each year, De Baak is asked to participate in a benchmarking survey performed by NIDAP, a research institute specializing in training and education.

• De Baak is allied with the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers (Vereniging VNO-NCW), which is also known as “The voice of Dutch business.”

• De Baak is recognized by CEDEO (Center for Documentation and Evaluation of External Business Courses).
