Living the Passion for a Better World

By Tatiana Glad and Roos Moll
Young leaders are passionate about making change happen, yet often feel isolated and lack direction in how to apply their latent energy to make this happen. As young leaders choose a career path - whether it be as a young entrepreneur or professional - they often do not have the opportunity to meet each other and discover complementary perspectives and skills. However, many young people have strong convictions about the world they would like to live in, about the changes they want to see. Given the right space to explore questions that matter and given the encouragement to act on their passion with clarity and confidence, many young people can actively create change.
We offer creative spaces for people to connect with and explore their life-affirming leadership and, simply, how to make the world a better place. Through hosting meaningful conversations that lead to meaningful action, we hope that people can explore their passion and discover ways to take responsibility, whether as a change agent within a company, as an emerging social entrepreneur, or as a young professional. This may be starting a new product that is environmentally sustainable or a service innovation that meets social needs in your community; it might mean living your values day to day in the office or mentoring a young leader in your organisation.
We believe firmly that this future – and any systemic change effort – resides inthe ability of individuals to re-connect with who they are and the ways in whichthey can fulfil their passions, while learning more about the world. Inspiring suchindividuals are the founders of Pioneers of Change, who saw the need for youngpeople to hold onto their ideals as they entered the work force, and created aplatform to allow these ‘pioneers’ to self-organise around issues they care about.
