International Summer School Project Team Leadership

Give your project team clear instructions and guidance and you’ll give yourself more scope as an effective project leader. Then you can use your colleagues' talents to find the route to the best project result. In other words, you’ll develop not only your effectiveness as a project leader but also the talents of your colleagues.

Your objectives

You want to improve your personal effectiveness as a project leader and consequently the effectiveness of the overall project team within the organization.

Day 1
Arrival and welcoming of participants: Introductions
'Fleet inspection' of formulated learning objectives
Interactive introduction to project team leadership based on critical success factors Developing Assessment: In this part of the program, participants start experimenting with their skills in conducting individual discussions. You’ll explore and strengthen your own skills using peer support. You’ll also work on the assessment with the help of actors.

Day 2
Today it's all about leadership, based on authority and creativity. We’ll work intensively on your place and role as a (non-hierarchical) leader in complex and discordant situations. The common thread is acquiring knowledge and insight into creative problem solving using the Harvard method.

Day 3
In the morning, we’ll look at the theory of group dynamics in a project team. The afternoon and evening are spent on Development Assessment Part 2, in which participants experiment in using their own skills in leading a dynamic project team. Actors will again help with the assessment.

Day 4
This day is dedicated to applying acquired knowledge and insights to case histories from participants’ work environments. We’ll use methodologies that you can take back to the workplace to help you continue reflecting on what you’ve learned.

We’ll end the course by 'gathering in the harvest' and confirming your good practices for tomorrow.
